JYP Entertainment Reveals What Will Happen To Miss A

There have been many questions as to the future of miss A, with all their members being invested in their own individual schedules and activities.

After the group dominated the industry for 7 years as one of Korea’s most popular girl groups, miss A’s agency JYP Entertainment announced last May that they will be discontinuing activities as a group after member Jia’s contract expired without renewal.

Having several chart-ranking hits like “Bad Girl Good Girl,” “Goodbye Baby,” and “Touch,” their strong vocals were highly praised and in particular, member Suzy captivated many fans and gained the nickname “the nation’s first love” with her sweet yet alluring girl-next-door charm.

With the members’ individual schedules and promotions, miss A’s popularity as a group had been declining, but their individual fan bases continued to grow.

Suzy’s acting roles were highly praised in several incredibly popular television series such as MBC’s Gu Family Book, KBS 2TV’s Dream High, and film Architecture 101; thus, kickstarting her success as a very talented actress.

In 2017, Suzy has already been cast alongside Lee Jong Suk to star in the new SBS television series, While You Were Sleeping, which is planned to air sometime this year.

Recently, JYP Entertainment released teasers and launched a website for Suzy’s solo debut album “Yes? No? which will be officially released on January 24, with a track to be pre-released on January 17.

Fei has also released a solo album titled Fantasy since miss A’s hiatus began, and is currently actively starring in many Chinese entertainment shows.

As for Min, she has started an acting career of her own, where she made her first appearance in the movie Suni. Min was aslo recently cast to play the lead female role, Geum Jandi in the musical version of Boys Over Flowers, due to start playing in February.

JYP Entertainment has expressed, “The possibility of miss A performing again as a group is open.”  Many seem to think that such an answer in itself shows how bleak the future of miss A as a group seems. That JYP would say that the possibility of them performing is just “Open”.  Experts however seem to think that the possibility may be even slimmter with Suzy’s and Min’s contracts set to come to an end this year.
