It’s obvious: Stray Kids‘ Hyunjin is absolutely gorgeous! Because of his great looks, he is referred to as “The visual” of Stray Kids. Of course, to many, being “The visual” is a great compliment; however, for Hyunjin, it’s a compliment he has mixed feelings about.
In an interview with Arena Homme Plus, the interviewer brought up Hyunjin’s previous interview where he stated he disliked being titled “The visual” of the group: “In the last interview, you said in the past, you were very bad at dancing, but you hated being called the visual so you practiced very hard to get better.” Hyunjin gave a cute response:
I can’t watch old fan cams anymore. Why was I like that? Please don’t look at them. Don’t look at them (laughs). I have just now started to find my own way.
The interviewer then questioned why Hyunjin couldn’t simply just enjoy being the good-looking idol he is.
Bragging about something you didn’t work for is so lame. I understand that saying someone was ‘born with it (a talent)’ is meant to be a compliment, but I don’t take it very seriously.
Hyunjin explained that instead of bragging about something he didn’t earn through effort, he instead created high standards for himself in order to work harder.
I’m still lacking in several ways and I need to work harder to become better. Honestly, I don’t have time to think about that stuff. I have very high expectations for myself. I want to focus on bettering myself.
Fans are appreciative of both Hyunjin’s incredible visuals and his hard work! As one of the best dancers in K-Pop, Hyunjin’s efforts are definitely paying off!
