Here’s How BTS’s Suga Overcomes A Slump — You Can Do It Too

His practical advice will help you overcome your own slumps.

Are you stuck in a rut? Don’t worry, you’re not the only one. BTS‘s Suga has some helpful advice, and it’s based on his personal experience.

On April 25, Suga hosted an hour-long Q&A called “AskShoopD” on Twitter to answer fans’ questions. This includes questions about his absence from BTS’s group photo with Ariana Grande, his fears, hobbies, and more.

One fan asked, “How do you overcome your slumps?”. For Suga, it’s all about having the right mindset and powering through.

“I don’t ever think of my slumps as slumps,” he replied. “But when it hits, I try to stay extremely busy and bombard myself with things to get done. And as I bustle around to get those done, I overcome…”

If you’re feeling stuck, try to concentrate on figuring out who you are. You are the most important thing in this all.”

This isn’t the first time Suga has shared words of wisdom about slumps. In a 2019 broadcast, Suga explained that everyone goes through ups and downs.

There comes a time for everyone… when nothing is changing. After a while, it picks up like this… then the phase comes back. Once you get through that, it goes back up… So that down time in life happens to all of us. I doubt there is anyone who has never experienced that slump.

His outlook on slumps hasn’t changed in the past year. Back then, he also advised ARMY to persevere through persistence.

I know how hard it is to break out of a slump. But I actually know of the best way to snap out of it. How? You just keep at it. Don’t think about it. Just keep doing what you’re supposed to be doing, without giving it any other thought.

There’s no magic fix for slumps. You just have to ride them out.

And you’ll realize at one point that you’ve naturally broken out of the slump. Trust me. And I know people act like there are some magical, special ways to fix this ‘slump’ thing. There isn’t. The only way to escape that feeling is to ride it out.

It might seem like your slump is going on forever, but one day you’ll look back and that seemingly inescapable rut will be just a memory.

You don’t even have to feel bad about yourself because you don’t seem to improve during that sluggish time… because if you keep going anyway, at one point, you will reach a new level. That’s exactly what happened to me too.
