The Boyz performed a cover of TWICE‘s “What Is Love?” at the M Countdown concert in Taiwan and netizens are praising their performance for its professionalism.
While a lot of boy groups cover girl group’s songs in a silly or funny way, often crossdressing – which has its own entertainment value – The Boyz went a different route and “took TWICE seriously”, as some netizens are saying.

calling all the boy groups out there, this is how you cover a girl group song properly !!!!

This is how you cover a girlgroup song.

Ugh they are so powerful

Historically boy groups have covered girl groups by dressing up with wigs, skirts and makeup, exaggerating the choreography and singing in a higher octave, like Super Junior‘s cover of Girls’ Generation‘s “Gee.”
The Boyz’s serious cover sparked a discussion about whether treating girl groups covers as a joke is disrespectful or not.
🗣️ the boyz are confident enough that they don't need to turn girl group covers into a joke. Instead of crossdressing or making the performance silly and funny, they actually perform the song how it is supposed to be performed. And they fucking slay while doing it too

i feel like a lot of ifans (esp bg stans) dont understand why kfans shit on bgs for dancing to gg songs
its cuz we dont like it when bgs take a gg dance and exaggerate it, trying to be "funny"
its not funny, its mocking.
you dont see ggs dancing like that to bg songs do u??

That’s right👍🏼 finally a boy group respecting the efforts and choreography of colleagues from the opposite sex. Instead of making it a joke for variety. Keeping it real and doing tribute the right way.

It's *slight* sexism, but I thought kfans were more into it than ifans, because of the culture. I've always seen it as mocking both their dance, their work and the way they have to act as women (sexy or cute most of the time). They don't mock badass women as often though.
