BLACKPINK’s Jennie Once Changed The Lyrics To Her Song…Because Her Mom Was There

“Everyone gangsta until their mom pulls up.”

BLACKPINK‘s Jennie is known to be the fiercest rapper ever. With her smooth delivery and hard-hitting lines, no one can imitate her style. She’s not afraid to get down and dirty even, with some of her lyrics famously containing words such as “b*tch” (“Forever Young”) and “sh*t” (“DDU-DU DDU-DU” Japanese version).

However, all that changed in an instant when her mom visited one of her shows! During their first day of shows at Kyocera Dome in Osaka, Jennie was hyper-aware of the fact that her mom was somewhere in the audience. Originally, the lyrics for “DDU-DU DDU-DU”‘s Japanese version go as following.

Bullsh*t for the birds that are comin’
I’ma say that sh*t again, I’m the man like runnin’

— “DDU-DU DDU-DU”

However, Jennie couldn’t bear to recite the lyrics on that day and laughed shyly instead. Check out the cute moment for yourself!

Of course, she immediately pulled a 180 right after that first verse ended and rapped her next verse flawlessly. We love her respect for her mother! Check out some other adorable moments between Jennie and her mother here.
