“So I Married An Anti-Fan” Drama Starring Sooyoung and Choi Tae Joon In Danger Of Being Completely Cancelled

All their hard work may go to waste.

The drama version of So I Married An Anti-Fan, starring Girls’ Generation‘s Sooyoung, Choi Tae Joon, and 2PM‘s Chansung, is in danger of being completely cancelled.

The drama, which was 100% pre-produced, has had countless struggles in trying to get the drama scheduled for broadcast on television.

According to an exclusive report by Sports Donga, the production team of the drama has had difficulties in find a broadcasting station to air the drama. The drama started shooting in August 2018, and has already completed all of its post-production schedules, however more than 15 months later, still has yet to find an airing channel. Although the rights to the drama have been sold to more than 160 countries around the world, it can’t even find a channel in Korea to be broadcast on. Reports detailed that SBS was supposed to air the drama, but those reports were false.

To make matters even more difficult, the drama’s 2 male leads, Choi Tae Joon and Chansung, are both serving in the military right now. Even if the drama was able to secure a time slot on a broadcasting channel, there would be no male leads to handle promotional activities for the drama. In addition, Sooyoung is currently preparing for her next drama, OCN‘s Call It As You See It, which makes managing timing for promotions even harder.

The broadcast of the drama is very difficult.

If the drama fails to obtain broadcasting rights on a television station, all they have left is OTT (over the top) services such as Netflix. If that fails to materialize, then the drama will be scrapped.
