“…??? I’ve never seen an official statement like this.”

Back in 2017, the rookie K-Pop girl group Yellow Bee debuted with Addiction Entertainment.

Since then, Yellow Bee has been showcasing the group’s growth on Instagram, slowly but steadily gaining a fanbase.

Unfortunately though, in May 2020, the agency shared news of the group’s disbandment on the said Instagram feed. While the announcement came rather abruptly…

… that is not what caught K-Pop fans’ eyes. The disbandment announcement, posted in both Korean and awkwardly-translated English, accused “Member B” of “being promiscuous” and for being the reason the group cannot continue.

The five-membered girl group Yellow Bee has officially disbanded. The agency Addiction Entertainment stated, “Yellow Bee — who debuted in 2017 — had been preparing a third digital single album. So we wanted to keep the group going, even if we had to switch out all five members. But with member B carrying on her rather slutty lifestyle, plus the other members being unable to come to an agreement, we’ve decided that the group cannot stay together.

Fans also found it strange that the agency opted to copy-paste what seems to be a press release — as to providing a more personally drafted official statement.

The agency also claimed that Yellow Bee meant to have a comeback by June — and that they had responded to fans’ DMs and comments stating so. They apologized for letting down the fans who have been waiting patiently for the album.

Such an unprecedented kind of a disbandment announcement has K-Pop fans feeling shocked. While some believe the agency must have “gone through a lot” to “care so little” about the situation…

… most have criticized the agency for “being petty” and deliberately trying to “screw over the girls.”

Addiction Entertainment has since not made any additional statements about Yellow Bee or “Member B”.
