Red Velvet Are The Ultimate Professionals In The Face Of Extreme Weather

“Photos always look good, but this is how it looks at the scene.”

Red Velvet recently made their first comeback in over a year with “Queendom” which has doing incredibly well. While albums can succeed with bad cover art, “Queendom” benefits from some absolutely gorgeous jacket photos. Red Velvet recently revealed that one of the three photos for their album jacket was incredibly hard won.

While the first two days of their jacket shoot went incredibly well, the third day began with an absolute downpour. Luckily Seulgi was there to catch all of the wild weather on camera for her vlog.

Seulgi revealed that herself and Yeri been waiting for quite a bit, so long that when Yeri went to explain it she said “scene” instead of “picture”. “I got confused since I’ve been filming dramas only lately,” she exclaimed.

Seulgi also revelealed that pair had gotten ready together “But as soon as [they] left, it suddenly rained heavily.”

Seulgi then turned her camera to show the poor bulldozer the girls were supposed to film on, left alone in the field and completely covered in balloons as the rain poured around it. She even encouraged the bulldozer to “hang in there.”

Luckily, the rain finally cleared but this meant the girls had to march through large puddles. While some may be put off by these conditions, Red Velvet marched on without complaint to reach their shooting location.

With the rain gone, in its place came monstrous winds. The winds were so powerful that at points it becomes hard to hear Seulgi on her own camera.

Even in the heavy wind, Seulgi found a bright side saying that “because of the wind, the photos look pretty charming. It looks very mysterious.”

Throughout the photoshoot, the member kept a lighthearted attitude and once IreneWendy, and Joy joined the set, the mood brightened even more.

Seulgi best summarized the situation earlier in her vlog when she said

We filmed it after a series of hardships which is so fortunate. Fortunately, the rain has stopped a bit. So, we filmed it really quickly… Photos always look good, but this is how it looks at the scene.
