Produce 101 Trainee, MIXNINE Contestants & More To Debut as “Gaming” Girl Group

They will be part of the eSports world and the K-pop world all at once.

Online game company Actozsoft recently launched eSports girl group AQUA, featuring various survival show contestants.

The group is made up of Produce 48’s Yoon Haesol, MIXNINE’s Baek Hyunjoo and Kim Sihyun, Produce 101‘s Yoo Suah, andK-Pop Star 6‘s runner-up Kim Hyerim. Hyerim debuted in a duo called Lime Soda with final AQUA member Na Seungji in July.

All of the members of AQUA love to game and will be lead by MVP Chicken Maru‘s Sora (former Starcraft 2 gamer) as their manager. Hyung Eun, who worked with OGN’s Summoner’s War Conquerors, will join the organization in a supporting role.

The idea of AQUA came to be when Actozsoft wanted to cater to demands in the market for more game and eSports-related content.

AQUA will be promoting in activities related to the eSports industry, as well as regular singer promotions. They are expected to appear on gaming related shows and other content produced by Actozsoft.

“Pro gamers and streamers are already enjoying as much popularity as celebrities. Businesses that make good use of these people can grow big enough to fall within the overall entertainment category.

Goohibin, Actozsoft CEO

They have begun official promotions, performing at the press conference for MBC‘s newest gaming program Begin A Game — starring Super Junior‘s Heechul & Shindong, gagman Kim Joonhyun, TV star & former pro-gamer Guillaume Patry, B1A4‘s Gongchan, and Berry Good’s Johyun.

Their debut song “Log In” was produced by ZigZagNote, who has also worked with BTS, TWICE and Apink, and is expected to drop in November.
