With the December premiere of JTBC‘s Snowdrop slowly approaching, the production team of the series revealed an additional teaser photo to excite potential viewers of the K-Drama. The hype has already been at an all-time high due to this being BLACKPINK Jisoo‘s first ever lead role so it’s no wonder that everyone has been keeping a close eye on this series.
In addition to that, Jisoo’s leading man is none other than South Korea’s hottest rising actor Jung Hae In, which only added onto the overall excitement. The two amazing lead actors, plus the director and screenwriter from the SKY Castle series made for a sure given recipe of success.
As the anticipation grows, another official poster was finally released, but the public’s response has been surprisingly negative. With Jung Hae In dressed in a suit and Jisoo wearing a gorgeous dress, Snowdrop‘s poster features the two main leads dancing in some type of venue.
However, netizens wondered why the poster looked so “crappy,” while others compared the poster to that of Hollywood film, La La Land.
- “It has similar vibes to the La La Land poster so I’m a little surprised;;;”
- “I freaking hate it.”
- “It’s really crappy ㅋㅋㅋㅋ.”
- “It looks like replica of La La Land.”
- “Why is the poster so crappy…it looks like the poster of a KBS weekend drama from 10 years ago…”
- “Without fail, this sucks…”
Snowdrop will be set in 1987 during the pro-democracy movement in South Korea, which featured mass protests that eventually forced the nation to end the authoritarian rule at the time. Jung Hae In will be portraying the role of Im Soo Ho, a graduate student with a secret who partakes in the pro-democracy protests. Jisoo will be playing Eun Young Ro, a college student who falls in love with Im Soo Ho.
The series is set to premiere sometime in December 2021 so be sure to keep an eye out for the upcoming release.
