For the event, solo K-Pop artist AleXa, originally from Oklahoma, returned to the United States after three years. She sang the American national anthem at the game.

I cannot believe what an honor it was to stand before you today in Dodger’s Stadium & sing the Star Spangled Banner~ So grateful for this wonderful opportunity…It’s been 3 years since I’ve been in America, and this memory is definitely one I will never forget!! Thank you so much!!

She was truly a perfect choice to start the game! Her voice is amazing and truly what the game needed to kick off.

Korean American actor and producer Daniel Dae Kim not only attended the event. He did the first pitch for the game!

Proud to rep the @dodgers on Korean Heritage Night! Glad to have the chance to say thank you to Dave Roberts for his outspoken support of the Asian American community as well. (…Also glad I reached the plate. Whew!)

— Daniel Dae Kim

Former professional baseball pitcher Chan Ho Park attended as well. He’s a legendary athlete as he actually has the most career wins for any Asia-born pitcher with 124 wins.

It was a great evening honoring those of Korean heritage. Especially since the Dodgers had their best late comeback in decades with a 1+4 game, winning against the San Diego Padres. It is their 103rd win of the season.

Some of the music played throughout the night included BTS and British rock band Coldplay‘s new collaboration single “My Universe.”

Those in attendance received an exclusive baseball cap for Korean Heritage Night. It included the team’s logo on the front, the Korean flag on the side, and hangul on the bill.

The Dodgers are not the only LA team honoring Korean heritage. The Los Angeles Lakers recently became the first team in the NBA to secure a sponsorship deal with a Korean company. Read about it below:
