Beginning on July 8, Du Meizhu made several posts, claiming that she was tricked into attending a drinking party at Kris Wu‘s home. Wu’s then-manager claimed it was for the lead female role in an upcoming music video, which eventually led to her unwillingly having sex with Wu while drunk. She also revealed that several victims had contacted her, claiming to have similar experiences with Wu.

Wu promptly denied the allegations, but he was later detained following an investigation by the police.

On August 1, it was announced that Kris Wu and his label’s Weibo account had been shut down due to “Complaints in violating the law and regulations and Weibo’s Community Convention.” Wu had over 51 million followers on the social media site and was his primary way of communicating with his supporters. Following this, Weibo had shut down many accounts that had shown support to Wu.

It isn’t the only case of Kris Wu’s profiles being removed. His music has been erased from several music streaming platforms alongside his profiles, including NetEase, QQ Music, Kugou Music, and Migu Music.
