The 57th Baeksang Arts Awards recently concluded its ceremony and Oh Jung Se‘s speech has been making headlines for making another fellow actor tear up.
Oh Jung Se won the award for the Best Supporting Actor at this year’s ceremony for his portrayal as Moon Sang Tae in It’s Okay to Not Be Okay. The actor received endless praise for his incredible acting abilities within the series, as his character lived with autism. Oh Jung Se stole the scene every time he appeared in the K-drama and delivered many heartfelt moments throughout the duration of the series.
As Oh Jung Se accepted his award for the Best Supporting Actor, his acceptance speech began to make waves online.
Thank you. I have been given the honor of receiving this precious award again. I have been receiving a lot of love, which has been making me wonder if I am worthy of receiving such love.
I am a person with many faults who lacks in many ways, but I am grateful to the people who help me in the areas that I lack.
People always say that the supporting actors are there to ‘help’ the main actors. The truth is, the main actors always do well, but the supporting actors can’t do anything without the main actors. I should have helped more in my role, but I ended up receiving so much more in this production.
The dongsaeng that I love so much, Moon Kang Tae (Kim Soo Hyun’s character.) Just looking at his eyes made me overflow with emotions.
— Oh Jung Se
As Oh Jung Se delivered his heartfelt acceptance speech, the camera panned over to Kim Soo Hyun who was captured with tears glistening in his eyes.
Oh Jung Se made even more headlines as he also thanked his other It’s Okay to Not Be Okay co-star, Seo Ye Ji during his acceptance speech.
Congratulations to Oh Jung Se and his well-deserved award!
