Fans Suspect A Reunion Is In The Works For OG K-Pop Girl Group KARA, Including Ex-Members

Could it be?

KARA was one of K-Pop’s most beloved girl groups. Their peak was during the second generation of K-Pop as they sat beside Girls’ Generation and Wonder Girls as the reigning queens of K-Pop.

As the years passed, members Kang Jiyoung and Nicole left to branch out and their company, DSP Media, set up an audition program to find a new member. Finally, Heo Youngji made it into the group, and KARA promoted as four with Youngji, Goo Hara, Seungyeon, and Park Gyuri. They had many great hits such as “Mamma Mia” before the rest of the original members left the company in 2016 after their contracts expired. Then, tragedy struck and Goo Hara, unfortunately, took her own life.

Now, 6 years after the group’s last single, rumors are brewing about a potential reunion. Fans discovered that original members Nicole and Kang Jiyoung had begun to follow new member Youngji.

This came as a shock as they had not been following Youngji for years. Youngji joined the group after Nicole and Kang Jiyoung had long left, leaving them no time to interact.

Youngji had also been discovered to have followed the two back recently.

While it could have been a mere coincidence, fans couldn’t help but wonder — why now? Why after 6 full years? With members who had gone overseas, Nicole and Kang Jiyoung, all back in South Korea, a reunion does seem plausible. We know we can’t wait for it!
