Indie Band Jannabi’s Future Schedules Have Been Canceled Following Recent Controversy

All their schedules are being canceled.

Indie rock band Jannabi‘s schedules are continuously being canceled one by one following the recent controversies of a few members.

Jannabi was scheduled to guest on the radio programs, Lee Suji’s Gayo Plaza and Jung Somin’s Young Street, on May 28th and 29th respectively but both were canceled.

They were also excluded from the originally-planned appearance at the Sookmyung Women’s University festival, which was held on May 24th.

As soon as Jannabi’s controversy was brought up, we held an urgent meeting and sought a resolution. Due to our concerns about the perception of our festival’s purpose, we’ve decided to cancel. As a result, the student council immediately notified the termination of the contract with the artist. The contract was terminated without any penalties at approximately 9 pm on May 24th.

On May 24th, former Jannabi member Yoo Young Hyun was accused of involvement in past school violence. He immediately apologized and announced his departure from the team.

Moreover, vocalist and leader, Choi Jung Hoon was also involved in a controversy related to Kim Hak Eui. It was reported that Choi Jung Hoon’s father had entertained the infamous former Deputy Justice Minister.

Choi Jung Hoon and his manager have firmly denied accusations.
