IU donate 100 million won to children from low income families on Children’s Day

Singer and actress IU continues to show her warm heart with news of her latest donation to children from low-income families.

On May 4th in celebration of Children’s Day in Korea, IU was reported to have secretly donated 100 million won towards low-income families via the Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation. This was confirmed by Star News after the media portal contacted the Children’s Foundation on the 5th.

An official representing the foundation said, “IU donated 100 million won under her own name yesterday (4th). Today is Children’s Day when children receive not only warm love from their parents, but gifts as well. But since low-income family kids might have to spend it in a lonely way, IU has donated 100 million won ($92,400~ USD). She had also done voluntary service for handicapped children, secretly donating without others knowing.”

IU will be appearing in the upcoming highly anticipated KBS drama Producer, which was set back to a premiere date of May 15th. She will feature alongside Kim Soo Hyun, Cha Tae Hyun, Gong Hyo Jin, and more.
