The original ISAC has been cancelled though.

Recently, on the 28th of August, MBC confirmed that the upcoming Idol Star Athletics Championships (ISAC) had been cancelled due to the spike of confirmed COVID19 cases in South Korea.

However, to make up for it, MBC has decided to create a spin-off program due to record early September if all goes well. Although the production team is still in discussions, they plan to hold an agility championship, featuring dog-sports. This was a part of the original ISAC event, and taking into consideration the preparations that the idols underwent for it, MBC is trying to move forward with it.

The idols participating in this dog-sports event include Kim Wooseok, GOT7‘s Youngjae, WJSN‘s Subin, (G)I-DLE‘s Shuhua, MAMAMOO‘s Moonbyul, Golden Child‘s Bomin and Lovelyz‘s Jisoo.

MBC is also planning to hold the E-Sports event indoors as well, and is discussing how to best carry this out safely. They have announced that although the other events of ISAC have been cancelled, it is possible to have the participants for E-Sports to play in separated spaces, to maximise safety.

The ISAC is an event that is highly looked forward to each year as many fans are able to see their beloved idols participate in various sporting events and show off their talents. In recent years, E-Sports has been on the rise.
