Crayon Pop’s Way Reveals The Top 7 Most Popular Plastic Surgeries For Idols

“There are so many people whose lives have been changed by this…”

While not every idol feels comfortable opening up about plastic surgery, the truth is that numerous stars undergo cosmetic procedures to get the look they want. In a new video on her YouTube channel, WayLand, second-generation idol Crayon Pop‘s Way revealed the top seven most popular cosmetic procedures among K-Pop stars.

1. Cosmetic dentistry

According to Way, almost 90% of idols have had (or been recommended to get) a cosmetic dental procedure. Way herself has undergone gum contouring surgery, which uses a laser to make your gumline prettier, as well as having veneers installed (thin tooth coverings that create a more “perfect” smile). On top of these procedures, she shared that teeth-straightening (for example, with braces) and teeth whitening are also popular among K-Pop stars.

IZ*ONE’s Wonyoung wore braces during “Produce 48”.

Way says that while cosmetic dental procedures usually have a high level of satisfaction among idols, they can sometimes go wrong. In fact, she admitted that one of her veneers once fell out in the middle of a live broadcast.

2. Facial contouring

The next surgical procedure on Way’s list is facial contouring; this is an umbrella term for a wide variety of procedures, from non-invasive fillers to intensive jawbone shaving. Way explained that idols typically get facial contouring surgery because it makes your face look “smaller and prettier,” but it tends to come with serious side effects.

ZE:A’s Kwanghee admitted to undergoing facial contouring surgery.

3. Breast implants

Another popular surgery among idols is breast augmentation, according to Way. The second-generation star revealed she’s heard girl group idols who are part of groups with “sexy concepts” often get breast implants at the recommendation of their companies.

4. Lip fillers

Way says that lip fillers are a very popular plastic surgery procedure for idols these days, and she’s one of the biggest lip filler enthusiasts herself. “I think lip filler changed my life,” she shared, revealing that she’s very happy with her outcome even though she didn’t have any insecurities about her lips beforehand. While Way admitted that some stars she knows have suffered infections and inflammations after getting fillers, she luckily ended up with a great result.

5. Botox

Botox is one of the most popular non-invasive cosmetic treatments around the world, so it’s no surprise that idols love it too. This procedure involves injecting a paralyzing drug into the muscles to relax them, reducing wrinkles and creating a more youthful appearance.

According to Way, the most common places idols get Botox are the chin and the calves, but she’s also received Botox in her nose, forehead, thighs, and arms. “There are so many people whose lives have been changed by this,” Way revealed, though she noted that facial muscle Botox can be a problem for idols who need to smile often.

6. LASIK

Though Way says LASIK might not qualify as plastic surgery, she opened up about how it changed her life. LASIK eye surgery uses a cutting laser to alter the shape of your eye’s cornea, correcting many common vision problems that would usually require glasses or contact lenses.

EXO’s Chanyeol had LASIK surgery as a trainee.

Since having the surgery 11 years ago, Way says she no longer needs to hunt for glasses as soon as she wakes up. Even though her eyesight is starting to diminish again, she revealed she’d get the procedure done again if she could.

MONSTA X’s Shownu underwent LASIK last year.

7. Double eyelid surgery

One of the most well-known idol surgeries among K-Pop fans is double eyelid surgery, which involves creating an artificial crease in natural monolids. Way revealed that this is one of the most common surgeries among idols, but it doesn’t go well for everyone.

There are people who are really satisfied with the surgery,” she explained, “And also there are people who are suffering every day after having it.”  Way got double eyelid surgery for the first time at the age of 30 to correct a drooping eyelid that was affecting her vision and was happy with her procedure, but not all idols are so lucky.
