GOT7‘s Youngjae was rushed to the hospital and has announced he will be canceling all activities, including the group’s Australian fan meeting, due to a back injury.
Youngjae was taken to the hospital in order to treat a back injury and will not be able to attend GOT7 GLOBAL FANMEET IN AUSTRALIA 2017 with the rest of the group. This is the third time that Youngjae has had to cancel activities due to a health issue.
He was previously unable to promote with GOT7 in October 2016 after revealing his health was in poor condition. He also was unable to perform in Dallas in July 2016 for the first stop in their US tour, prior to his October issue.
JYP Entertainment released a statement regarding Youngjae’s condition and confirmed the reason as a back injury.
“Due to health concerns, Youngjae will not participate in GOT7 GLOBAL FANMEETING IN AUSTRALIA 2017 on April 20, 21, 23, and 24.
Youngjae is currently being treated for his back injury and recovering in the hospital. Considering his health status, it is difficult for him to participate in the Australia fan meetings, and therefore decided not to attend.
We sincerely apologize to all of the fans who have been highly anticipating [the fan meetings]. Youngjae’s recovery is now the top priority. Thank you.”

It is unclear whether or not this is related to his absence from their fan meets in October of last year. This is the first time JYP Entertainment has revealed Youngjae’s njury to be related to his back.
Immediately after the announcement, fans took to Twitter to show their support with the hashtag #GetWellSoonYoungjae, and are praying for the singer’s quick recovery.
