The “Goo Hara Act” will be given a second chance as the Legislation and Judiciary Committee’s 21st committee is set to review the bill in their upcoming meetings.
The “Goo Hara Act” was created by Goo Hara‘s brother, Goo Ho In, in an effort to prohibit neglectful parents from claiming inheritance of their deceased children if they failed to provide protection and properly raise them.
Goo Ho In decided to take on the legal fight after his mother, who abandoned Goo Hara and him when they were only children, decided to suddenly turn up and claim half of Goo Hara’s wealth after her death.
The bill was originally to be reviewed by the 20th committee, but on their last meeting they deemed that the bill needed “further review” – which ultimately means that it failed to pass. Goo Ho In had shed tears as he expressed his deepest regret on the decision.
But the bill was thankfully picked up by the 21st committee. Representative Seo Young Kyo will take charge of the “Goo Hara Act” in their upcoming meetings.
As the act is Goo Ho In’s “last gift” to his late sister, many sincerely hope for a better turnout for the bill in the upcoming committee meetings.
