Creator Hwang Dong Hyuk said previously in an interview with The Associated Press that he was working on season 2 of the show due to the overwhelming demand from fans. He is now in the planning stage for it, but in a more recent interview with Korean broadcaster KBS, he mentioned that he is in talks with Netflix over the planning of not only season 2…but also of season 3!

This is the first time that Hwang Dong Hyuk makes any mention of a third season, which means that nothing has yet been confirmed, but there does seem to be a strong possibility that this third season could happen.

“I’m in talks with Netflix over season 2 as well as season 3… We will come to a conclusion any time soon.”

It seems like Gi Hun will be facing a lot in the future, and fans will be happy to know that there is still plenty more to see of him and the world of Squid Game. Hopefully season 3 will be officially confirmed soon!
