Megan Thee Stallion’s label, 1501 Certified Entertainment, allegedly attempted to block the song in the midst of a dispute with the artist. The collaboration track is scheduled to drop at 12 AM (ET) on Friday, August 27th now that the court had ruled in Megan Thee Stallion’s favor.

The court filing, published by Variety, details the reasons why it is imperative that the new “Butter” remix be released as planned.

If Pete is not allowed to release a new track this Friday on which she is the featured artist in a remix with BTS of the song called, ‘Butter,’ her music career will suffer irreparable damage, including a devastating impact to her relationships with her fans and with other recording artists in the music industry.

To prevent financial damages and avoid letting down her fans, Megan Thee Stallion filed a petition for emergency relief. This document states that BTS‘s legal team, in addition to Megan’s own, attempted negotiations with 1501 Certified Entertainment.

My legal team, along with the BTS’ legal team have tried without success to work with 1501, which instead continued to engage in extortion.

Thankfully, for all parties involved, “Butter” won’t be held back. Who’s ready for Hot Girl Butter?
