BTS Has Now Matched An Incredible Record-Breaking Milestone On The Billboard Global 200 Chart

Only one other artist in the world has reached this achievement.

The “Billboard Global 200″ chart is a weekly chart that premiered in September 2020 which ranks songs based on sales and streaming data from over 200 territories worldwide.

Because the data comes from such a broad population, this chart can really show which singles are performing the best on a worldwide scale, and can include songs both within the U.S. and outside of it.

This week, BTS has proven their massive success across the globe by tying with only one other artist to have the longest weeks spent at #1 on the “Global 200” chart!

With 17 weeks spent on the chart in total, four of those weeks have been at the #1 placement, which is more than any other song has been at the peak position besides one other iconic hit.

Mariah Carey‘s “All I Want For Christmas Is You”, which is the best-selling Christmas single by a female artist worldwide and one of the best-selling singles of all time, is the only other song that has been at #1 for 4 weeks. Mariah Carey herself is an absolute icon in the music industry, so it’s incredible that BTS can claim one of the same achievements that she has!

Also notable this week, “Dynamite” has extended its record-breaking time spent at #1 on the “Billboard Global Excl. U.S.” chart, now with 8 weeks ranking at this peak position, as well as with 17 total weeks spent on the chart as a whole. This chart is basically the same as the “Global 200” chart, except that it excludes data from the U.S., allowing songs from other countries to have a higher chance of ranking high on the chart.
