BTS Makes Another Historical Record On Billboard 200 With Japanese Album “Face Yourself”

BTS’s “Face Yourself” charted on Billboard 200 with its debut, as well as other charts around the world.

BTS‘s Japanese album “Face Yourself” debuted at No.43 on Billboard 200 with more than 12,000 album units sold last week.

4,000 of the units were traditional album sales which landed them at 41 on Billboard’s Top Album Sales Chart.

 

BTS broke their own record as the K-Pop act with the most album entries on America’s definitive album charts.

They have six albums that charted, followed by G-Dragon who has three. EXO and BIGBANG follow suit with two each.

 

Tamar Herman, a K-Pop columist for Billboard remarked that it’s very “rare to see Japanese-language music from Korean artists on U.S. charts.

 

Only two other Japanese albums have ever placed on the Billboard 200.

“Sukiyaki and Other Japanese Hits” by Kyu Sakamoto placed 14th in 1963, and BABYMETAL‘s “Metal Resistance” placed 39th in 2016.

 

“Face Yourself” also debuted at #1 on Billboard’s World Albums Chart, making them the K-Pop act to have the most chart-topping album on list.

This is their 5th time topping Billboard’s World Albums Chart. B.A.P, GOT7, and Red Velvet follows in second with 4 albums.

 

Furthermore, the Social 50 chart was totally dominated by BTS and other K-Pop groups.
