BLACKPINK’s Rosé Will Be The 1st Ever K-Pop Soloist To Perform On “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon”

Rosé is about to have one of the biggest solo debuts in K-Pop history.

In an early announcement, NBC has revealed that BLACKPINK‘s Rosé will perform on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

Next week’s lineup for The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon is packed with stars, from former first lady Michelle Obama to John Oliver. But for K-Pop fans, the biggest star on the lineup is BLACKPINK’s Rosé.

The main vocalist-turned-soloist will be a musical guest on Jimmy Fallon‘s Tuesday, March 16 episode. Sherlock actor Benedict Cumberbatch and Riverdale actress Madelaine Petsch will also appear as guests.

Rosé will likely be performing her upcoming title track, “On the Ground”, which is set to release alongside her debut single album, -R-, on Friday, March 12. The album, which has already broken the Korean female soloist pre-order record with 400,000 copies sold, will also feature the B-side “Gone”. Given the current pandemic situation, Rosé’s performance is expected to be pre-recorded from South Korea.

Not only is this a huge achievement for Rosé as a budding soloist, it’s also a major step for K-Pop internationally. Rosé’s appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon will mark the first time a K-Pop soloist has ever performed on the show.
