On April 14, Jennie shared several photos of herself at an arboretum in Paju, along with the caption “an outing.

One of the photos showed the hands of seven different people holding ice cream, which caused people to question if she had violated South Korea’s current ban on gatherings of more than five people due to COVID-19. After criticism arose, Jennie deleted the post.

On April 17, YG Entertainment made a statement about the controversy. They clarified that Jennie was at the arboretum for work, not a social gathering.
