The drama’s side released their own statement claiming that they only decided to continue with another actress because Ahn Seo Hyun’s father continued to make unreasonable demands for their contract.

They claimed the drama’s side of the story was different from the truth but they will continue cheering on School 2020 despite their differences.

Despite putting in our emotional and passionate effort into School 2020 and their director, producers, and staff for a long period of time, we feel unfortunate that we have to announce [Ahn Seo Hyun]’s unexpected departure .
We knew that the School series has received a lot of love throughout the years, so the fans had high expectations for it. Knowing that, we tried to do our very best.
It’s hard to believe that after all of that [Ahn Seo Hyun] has to leave the project and that they’ve put out a statement that’s different from the truth. But really loved the project, so we will cheer on School 2020, the director, producers, and all the staff so that they receive a lot of love.
We will do our best so that Ahn Seo Hyun will be able to greet everyone through a new project.
