These ‘Holy Trinities’ Are 8 Of The Best Trios In K-Pop

Three cheers for these K-pop trios.

They say 3 is a magic number, and these 8 K-Pop ‘holy trinities’ definitely prove that’s true!

1. Momo, Sana & Mina (TWICE)

You can’t talk about holy trinities without talking about TWICE’s J-Line: Momo, Sana, and Mina.

These three Japanese members (who are referred to as “Misamo” in their home country) bring a kawaii edge to one of the cutest groups in K-Pop. They’re also three of the best dancers in the group, with Momo and Mina filling the positions of main and lead dancer respectively.

2. RM, Suga & J-Hope (BTS)

For BTS, one of the ultimate trinities has to be the group’s crazy talented rap line: RM, Suga, and J-Hope.

Together, they’ve teamed up for some of the best hip-hop unit tracks in BTS’s discography, including “Ddaeng” and the “Cypher” series. It’s almost impossible to say who the best rapper is, because each member has their own unique style and strengths.

3. Wendy, Seulgi & Joy (Red Velvet)

Another trio with holy skills is Red Velvet’s vocal line: Wendy, Seulgi, and Joy. They’re often referred to as “Team Rocket” by the fans—Joy as Jessie, Seulgi as James, and Wendy as Meowth.

These three impressive vocalists can be heard singing their hearts out on every track in Red Velvet’s discography. Wendy provides a powerful edge, Seulgi brings a unique tone, and Joy gives the songs a honey sweetness. They also have a unit song together called “Rose Scent Breeze”.

4. Chen, Baekhyun & Xiumin (EXO)

EXO has spawned several units, including the retro pop-themed subgroup EXO-CBX. The letters stand for Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin.

The group has dropped bop after bop since their debut in 2016, including funk-inspired “Hey Mama!” and 80’s-style dance pop track “Blooming Day”. Since all the members are part of EXO’s vocal line, it’s no surprise that their voices sound so great together.

5. Taeyeon, Tiffany & Seohyun (Girls’ Generation)

EXO-CBX isn’t the only holy trinity unit group under SM Entertainment—you can’t forget Girls’ Generation-TTS, made up of Taeyeon, Tiffany, and Seohyun.

From “Twinkle” to “Holler”, Girls’ Generation-TTS released nothing but bops between 2012 and 2015. Being in a unit together really highlighted each of the members’ incredible voices, proving the singing prowess SM Entertainment groups are known for.

6. Cheng Xiao, Xuan Yi & Mei Qi (Cosmic Girls)

Together, Cheng Xiao, Xuan Yi, and Mei Qi are known as Cosmic Girls’ “Holy Chinity”—a mashup of “Chinese” and “trinity”.

Unfortunately for fans, this trio has been missing from the group’s albums and promotions for quite some time. But on the plus side, they’ve been killing it in solo activities (such as TV shows and dramas) across Asia.

7. Kim Lip, Jinsoul & Choerry (LOONA)

Alongside group and solo activities, LOONA also has three unit groups: including dream pop trinity LOONA Odd Eye CircleKim Lip, Jinsoul, and Choerry.

The trio has a girl crush concept with a twist—songs about love and attraction are combined with unique lore about glowing eyes and superhuman magical powers.

8. Bang Chan, Changbin & Han (Stray Kids)

Before Bang Chan, Changbin, and Han were part of Stray Kids, they were part of the pre-debut group 3RACHA. Under this group, they’re known as CB97 (Bang Chan), SPEARB (Changbin), and J.ONE (Han).

They uploaded their first mixtape in January 2017, and to this day this holy trinity still writes and composes music for Stray Kids.
