Here’s A Look At GOT7 Members’ Line Evolutions From Debut Until Now

Many of the members show a trend of some kind!

GOT7 debuted in 2014, so they’ve had plenty of time to determine each member’s strengths and weaknesses and create line evolutions over the years. While it’s already been determined who has the most and least lines overall in the group, it’s important to see what kinds of trends each member has in the lines they’re given! Some members have stayed relatively even in their line percentages, but others have showed clear increases or decreases since their debut. Check them all out below.

1. Yugyeom

Yugyeom is right in the middle in terms of the line percentage he’s had throughout GOT7’s discography, at about 13.8% of their total lines. Not only that, but the maknae has had a pretty clear increase in lines per song over the years, which is great to see! He went from having quite few lines to now having the most lines in a couple songs, so it will be interesting to see if this trend continues.

2. BamBam

BamBam, unfortunately, has the least amount of lines overall in GOT7’s songs, at about 9.2% of the total. His lines have varied quite a bit over time as well, without any sort of obvious trend. This is, however, common for rappers, since K-Pop groups’ songs vary in terms of how rap-heavy their lyrics are, so this isn’t unusual to see. Hopefully in the future he’ll get more lines!

3. Youngjae

Youngjae is one of GOT7’s most powerful vocalists, and it shows in the amount of lines he’s had — 19%, the second most of any member in the group! He has, however, showed a downward trend in the amount of lines he’s had since their debut, but this is possibly to allow other members more time in the spotlight now that they are more comfortable and feel more confident in their abilities. It’s definitely not because he’s gotten worse or anything, because his voice is still gorgeous!

4. Mark

Mark has the most overall lines of the three main rappers in the group, at 10.9% of the total. He’s showed, perhaps, a slight downward trend in the amount of lines he has overall, but it’s not that drastic. He still gets a decent amount of lines overall, and it’s unlikely to continue to decrease, given his skills!

5. Jackson

Jackson is right in the middle of the rap line in terms of his total line percentage, at 9.9% of the total lines in GOT7’s discography. While he debuted with noticeably less lines, he’s stayed fairly stable in the amount he’s given since the “Just Right” era, with some variation but no obvious upward or downward trend. Again, with rappers, this seems to be common to have high variation overall without a clear increase or decrease in lines!

6. Jinyoung

Jinyoung has the third most lines in the group, with 17.3% of GOT7’s total lines since debut. He definitely has showed an upward trend in the percentage of lines he’s given over the years, and whether that’s due to him getting more training and being able to perform even better or just because he’s being more recognized for his vocal abilities in general, it’s nice to see his line evolution on a slight positive incline!

7. JB

JB has the most lines of all the members in GOT7, with about 19.9% of their total. He’s known for being one of the most versatile and skilled vocalists of the group, so it’s not that surprising! Overall his line evolution has stayed pretty consistent, with the occasional increase in lines for a couple different songs. This trend has been going on for a long time, so it’s likely to continue!
