2021 is right around the corner, and it’s a milestone for 1992-line idols—everyone born that year is about to turn 30 years old (according to the Korean age system). Some of these idols seem so youthful, it’s hard to believe they’re leaving their 20s already. On the opposite side, some have been in the industry so long, it’s amazingly they’re still so young.
1. Jin (BTS)
BTS’s Jin was born on December 4, 1992, which means he’s turning 30 in Korea next year.
He may be the oldest member of the group, but it almost seems like his face has barely aged a day since he debuted seven years ago.
2. Moonbyul (MAMAMOO)
After Solar turned 30 this year, it’s MAMAMOO Moonbyul’s turn next year. She was born on December 22, 1992.
Moonbyul has been in the industry for six years already, but it’s hard to believe her thirties are almost here. That said, she’s recently been showing off a mature and powerful style in her music.
3. Baekhyun (EXO)
Alongside fellow members Chen and Chanyeol, EXO’s Baekhyun (born May 6, 1992) will be turning 30 in 2021.
Next year will also mark his 10-year anniversary under SM Entertainment after joining the company in 2011.
Born on May 2, 1992, soloist Sunmi is also set to turn 30 next year.
However, given that it’s been a staggering 13 years since she first debuted, it’s almost hard to believe she’s still in her 20s now.
5. Shownu (MONSTA X)
MONSTA X’s leader and oldest member Shownu will be the first from the group to hit his thirties.
He only debuted with MONSTA X five years ago, but his career has been going a lot longer than that. He trained alongside GOT7 members under JYP Entertainment for two years, then joined his company’s NUBOYZ pre-debut group in 2014.
6. Amber (f(x))
Amber Liu of f(x) was born on September 18, 1992, which puts her on the list of idols turning 30 next year.
Some mistakenly believe that reaching 30 marks the beginning of the end for idols, but given that Amber just signed with a new label last year, she still has far to go.
Another K-Pop star turning 30 next year is the one and only Zico. He was born on September 14, 1992.
Zico is another artist who seems like he’s been in the industry forever. He debuted in Block B nine years ago, had a solo debut six years ago, and already has his own K-Pop label—KOZ Entertainment.
Born on June 6, 1992, HyunA joins the group of stars turning 30 in 2021.
The craziest part is that in her teens and twenties alone, HyunA has debuted in a total of six groups and units: Wonder Girls, 4MINUTE, 4Tomorrow, Trouble Maker, Dazzling Red, and Triple H. Plus, she’s also a successful soloist.
9. BM (KARD)
The most recently debuted idol on the list of idols turning 30 is KARD’s BM, who was born on October 20, 1992.
He hit the scene with KARD just three years ago, though he trained for almost five years before he got the chance to show his skills.
10. Hani (EXID)
Last but not least, May 1, 1992-born Hani is the latest EXID member to reach her thirties.
Hani made her debut eight years ago, and though she left her company in 2019, EXID is still set to promote again together in the future. Now, as Hani enters a new era in her life, she’s building a career as an actress.
