1. RM

RM’s bottom number is his birthday, September 12, 1994. During BTS’s comeback broadcast, RM revealed that the top number is his old home address.

A long time ago, I used to live in an apartment building number 507 and the flat number 904. So, I just put the building and flat number.

2. Jin

Jin’s bottom number is his birthday, December 4, 1992. The top number? It’s random!

They asked me to give a number, so I just opened my phone and just punched in whatever on the keypad and sent it.

— Jin

Although Jin chose his six digits at random, Korean fans were still able to find meaning in his message:

3. Suga

Suga’s bottom number is his birthday, March 9, 1993. Suga also chose his top numbers by using his phone’s keypad, but his thought process differed from Jin’s.

I was thinking about the number I like, but that would end up giving such an obvious pattern. I got like 3333 or something. So, I was the same as Jin. I just opened my phone and [typing sounds].

— Suga

4. J-Hope

J-Hope’s bottom number is his birthday, February 18, 1994. Unlike Jin and Suga, he didn’t choose his numbers randomly. His top number is a pager code for “kiss” in Korean, 뽀뽀 (bbo bbo).

It’s a kiss. Yes, I just went with…I looked up pager codes that have nice meanings. I looked them up, but that was the one I found with six digits. I thought it would be fun so I chose 66066.

5. Jimin

Jimin’s bottom number is his birthday, October 13, 1995. His top number is an important date in BTS history.

“I put the thing for our first concert,” he said. October 18, 2014 was the second day of BTS’s 2-day concert in Seoul, to kick off their first headling tour, BTS Live Trilogy Episode II: The Red Bullet. During this tour, BTS performed songs from 2 Cool 4 Skool, O!RUL8,2?, Skool Luv Affair, and Dark & Wild.

6. V

V’s bottom number is his birthday, December 30, 1995. Jin asked V if he had chosen his top number to declare he is number one, but that wasn’t the case. Like J-Hope, V chose a number that connects BTS to past technology.

“Well, it had some meaning back in the days,” he said. “In the Cyworld vibe back in the days, 0000001 would be…Coding things like ‘I miss you’ or something.” After his members disputed his answer, however, V changed his mind and went with Jin’s suggestion. “Mine is with the mind that I’ll be number one,” he said.

7. Jungkook

Jungkook’s bottom number is his birthday, September 1, 1997. His top number is an important date that changed the course of his life.

“I had 110604. The day I first moved into the dorms,” he said. When J-Hope asked Jungkook if he was talking about the dorms in Nonhyeon-dong, Jungkook confirmed it. BTS’s old dorm is located at Nonhyeon-ro 145-gil in Gangnam.
