5+ Male Idols Who Slayed Covers Of Girl Groups’ Choreography

They rocked these covers!

K-Pop girl groups have blessed us with tons of iconic choreography!

With so many great girl group dances out there, it’s no wonder that male idols often cover girl group dances. Sometimes, male idols attempt to make the dances more “masculine” and end up making the dances practically unrecognizable.

However, when male idols stick to the original choreography while still putting their own twist on it, they bless us with legendary covers.

Here are 5+ male idols who have done excellent covers of girl group choreography!

1. Key (SHINee)

Key is basically the king of cover dances! He’s a cast member on the variety show Amazing Saturday, and he treats fans to great covers practically every week. He’s done choreography from BLACKPINK, 2NE1, Girls’ Generation, TWICE, STAYCaespa, and more. His cover of aespa’s “Next Level” really blew up and proved just how supportive of a sunbae he is!

2. Taeyong (NCT)

Fans absolutely loved it when Taeyong covered STAYC’s “ASAP!” He hit every move perfectly, and he stayed true to the feel of the original choreography.

3. Seonghwa (ATEEZ)

Seonghwa knows a ton of girl group choreography! He’s done choreography by ITZY, BLACKPINK, TWICE, and more. He also has done choreography by female soloists, like Chungha and Sunmi. Each time he covers female choreography, Seonghwa stays true to the original dance while showing off his incredible skills.

4. Jungkook and J-Hope (BTS)

All the BTS members have danced to girl group songs at one point, but Jungkook and J-Hope’s cover of Red Velvet‘s “Russian Roulette” was spectacular! They rocked the song’s iconic choreography without transforming it into a boy group choreography. After they did the original dance, they showed what the choreography would look like if it were for a boy group and proved they totally understood the nuances of the “Russian Roulette” choreography.

5. BamBam (GOT7) and Jo Kwon (2AM)

BamBam and Jo Kwon performed “Hush” with former Miss A‘s Fei and Min. As they danced next to the original performers of “Hush”, it was super clear that BamBam and Jo Kwon were taking the cover seriously and they were working hard to stay true to the original choreography.
