Jolly V uses Instagram post to discuss media framing

Using a clever cartoon, rapper Jolly V showed her Instagram followers that when something is portrayed by the media, things might not always be as they seem.

The photo posted was of one man running away as he was being assaulted by another man who is holding a knife. However, a shadow is cast upon the two, and while a third man records the scene, the shadow makes it appear as if the attacker is actually the victim, and vice-versa.

In addition to the cartoon, a caption reading “It’s Media” points to the camera, citing that the media may cast a shadow on the truth, and that framing can sway viewers to perceive a certain situation in a way that may not be the truth of the situation.

Jolly V is currently a contestant on Mnet‘s Unpretty Rap Star, and there are speculations that her post was in reference to her recent rap battle with fellow contestant Tymee. In a recent episode of the show, the two engaged in an intense dissing contest, which included many personal insults and attacks.
